Frequently asked questions
How do deposits reduce no-shows?
A clear deposit and cancellation policy helps clients understand what they have agreed to when they book. Results vary by service, client base and how the policy is communicated.
Can I take deposits only from some clients or for some treatments?
No. When online payments are on, clients choose at checkout to pay in full or pay a deposit. Deposits are not set per client or per treatment.
What happens if a client cancels with notice?
Your booking policy decides: a full refund if they cancel within your free-cancellation period, a partial refund between that and your no-refund window, and none inside the no-refund window.
How are deposits collected?
Through your own Stripe account when the client books online. Stripe charges its standard card fees, and the rest of the price is paid at your business.
Won't deposits hurt my bookings?
The effect varies. Explain your policy clearly, keep the free-cancellation period reasonable and apply it consistently.
