Choosing a booking app for barbers, nails and lashes
By Martynas Gecas, Founder, Elite Booker. Updated .
A shared booking system still needs a service menu and diary that match each business. Use these examples as test scenarios, not as treatment or safety advice. Set durations and preparation requirements from your own professional practice.
Barbers: account for booked and walk-in time
If you accept both appointments and walk-ins, decide how staff will reserve time for each. Enter breaks and changes to working hours before sharing the booking link. Check a short service followed by a longer service so the offered start times make sense.
Test booking with a preferred barber and with another available staff member. Make the service names understandable to someone visiting for the first time, and verify what a client sees when their usual barber is away.
Nails: distinguish service variants clearly
A first set, maintenance appointment and removal may require different durations and prices. Describe what each option includes, including any preparation or removal that must be selected. Do not hide essential differences in a note shown only after payment.
Try a client selecting the wrong variant and check how staff can correct the appointment and any price difference. Leave realistic changeover time and verify the next appointment remains available only when it should.
Lashes: make repeat appointments understandable
Describe the distinction between a new set and a maintenance appointment in language your clients use. Explain any consultation or preparation steps using your business's established professional requirements. Software reminders do not replace a treatment suitability assessment.
Test a returning client booking at a different interval from usual. Check whether the service description gives enough information to choose correctly and where the client should contact you if uncertain.
Use the same acceptance checks for every niche
Book, reschedule and cancel sample appointments. Confirm the staff member, time, deposit and remaining balance at each step. Review the customer message and the staff diary together, including when a service is fully booked.
On Elite Booker every plan has every feature; what differs between businesses is their setup, so recheck your booking page after changing services or staff. Online payments need your Stripe account connected. Keep the booking link consistent wherever clients discover you.
